Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation led by Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva is on an official visit to the UAE. During the visit, the Chairperson of the Senate met with the Supreme Chairman of the Family Development Foundation of the United Arab Emirates, Fatima bint Mubarak, who is known among the population of the Emirates as the "Mother of the Nation".

During the meeting, issues of constructive cooperation and progressive reforms carried out by the Presidents of the two states were outlined.

In particular, Fatima bint Mubarak emphasized that thanks to the strong political will of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale reforms are being consistently carried out on the path of development and prosperity of the country.

She also noted the significant progress made in Uzbekistan in recent years in matters of gender equality, strengthening the position of women in society, in connection with which, she supports the proposal to strengthen constructive cooperation between the two countries in this direction.

During the meeting, the Emirati side emphasized that in Uzbekistan, at the state level, special attention was paid to the vocational training of women, in particular, to increase the potential of women not only in the field of handicraft, textile industry, but also in the field of information technology, and also noted the work aimed at employment of women in rural areas.

In addition, the parties discussed issues of protecting the rights and interests of women, enhancing their role in society, and comprehensively strengthening the institution of the family.

During the dialogue, the results of the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and the UAE in this direction, work on mutually beneficial cooperation and exchange of experience were discussed, the contribution of women to the development of the state was especially noted.

There was also an exchange of views on Uzbek women who, having arrived in the UAE for various reasons, found themselves in a difficult life situation. Issues of providing comprehensive practical assistance to such women were discussed.

As a result of the meeting, preliminary agreements were reached on the formation of friendship groups in the parliaments of the two states, consisting of women parliamentarians and the establishment of their interaction, the development of exchange programs for students from leading higher educational institutions of the two countries, as well as the holding of the Forum of Women Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and the UAE.
