Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva got acquainted with a number of promising projects being implemented in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Yesterday, on 14 November, the Chairperson of the upper chamber of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva met with activists of the Nukus region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Then she visited the preschool educational institution "Progress of children" in the gathering of citizens of the village "Samanboy" and got acquainted with the conditions created for children.

This preschool educational institution was commissioned in June 2019. The institution, designed for 150 places, provides employment for 21 women. All conditions have been created here for children to receive a comprehensive upbringing and education. The President of the Senate presented gifts to children.

On the same day, a meeting was held with the deputies of the regional Kengash. During the event, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva focused on the tasks arising from the instructions of the head of state at the extraordinary session of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, held on 2 October, as well as increasing the activity of deputies to ensure their implementation.

It was noted that within the framework of the Industrial Development Program of the Nukus region in 2020-2022, it is planned to implement 84 projects worth 399 billion 234 million soums. Of these, 18 projects will be carried out in industry, 44 in agriculture and 22 in the provision of services.

In the region, special attention is paid to the development of horticulture and fishing. Thus, the activities of two clusters for the development of horticulture have been established.

In addition, within two years, 4 greenhouses will be built using the hydroponic method, 8 greenhouses, and 12 greenhouses in total. The implementation of these projects will create 345 new jobs.

During the event, the emphasis was placed on the activity of the deputies in the implementation of projects in the region. Opinions and suggestions were also expressed on the development of such areas as medicine, education, preschool education, crime prevention among the population, especially among women and young people, combating corruption, as well as on other topical issues.
