Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The sixth rolling stock of the Afrosiyob electric train arrived in Tashkent today.

Earlier, it was reported that the rolling stock was delivered from Bilbao (Spain) to the Russian port of St. Petersburg.

The train was supplied under a contract between Uzbekiston Temir Yullari JSC and the Spanish company Patentes Talgo S.L.U. for the purchase of two high-speed electric trains of the Talgo-250 series. The contract was signed in June 2019.

According to the agreement, this year, by October, the locomotive fleet of Uzbekiston Temir Yullari was to be replenished with two high-speed Afrosiyob electric trains. Spanish company "Patentes Talgo S.L.U." in turn, fully and on time fulfilled its obligations.

It should be noted that this rolling stock is the sixth in a row purchased within the framework of the investment project. According to the investment project, in addition to the two trains, the Spanish company will supply four spare economy-class cars, as well as equipment for the maintenance of the trains. The contract is financed by a loan from the Fund for Corporate Internationalization of Spanish Companies (FIEM).
