Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 16 February 2021, an online dialogue between the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva and Speaker of the Knesset (parliament) of the State of Israel Yariv Levin took place.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of inter-parliamentary ties.
It was noted that in recent years multilateral relations between the two countries have been developing, inter-parliamentary ties have noticeably revived.
During the dialogue, special attention was paid to the results achieved in the development of interstate cooperation, inter-parliamentary dialogue, strengthening of mutually beneficial trade and economic, political, legal, educational, innovative and cultural and humanitarian ties.
The importance of deepening inter-parliamentary ties in expanding bilateral cooperation was also emphasized.
To date, an inter-parliamentary group for cooperation with the parliament of the State of Israel operates in the Oliy Majlis.
The Speaker of the Knesset of the State of Israel highly appreciated the effectiveness of the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and noted that relations between the two states have a long history.
Particular attention was also focused on the further strengthening of interaction in the economic, tourism, educational spheres and healthcare, as well as interregional cooperation and bilateral relations. In particular, they discussed the implementation of new projects in the Aral Sea region, restoration of flights between the two states.
Upon completion of the dialogue, the parties expressed their readiness to continue to actively continue the inter-parliamentary dialogue between Uzbekistan and Israel.
