Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan Anvar Abdukhalimov presented his credentials to the Sultan of Oman Haisam bin Tariq Al Said at al-Barak’s palace, Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the diplomatic protocol of Oman, the flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan was solemnly raised at the entrance to the Sultan’s palace and the military band sang the national anthem of our country.

During the conversation after the ceremony, Sultan Hayesam bin Tariq Al Said conveyed his sincere greetings and good wishes to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Sultan of Oman expressed his satisfaction with the level of development of bilateral relations, one of the brightest symbols of which was the new building in Tashkent of the library of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Raikhan al-Beruni. He recalled with great warmth his visit to Uzbekistan to participate in the opening ceremony of the library.

The head of Oman stressed his interest in stepping up cooperation and creating appropriate mechanisms for organizing visits at various levels.
