All Railway Signs and Displays in Uzbekistan to Be Translated into Uzbek in Latin Script
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — All railway stations, terminals, and halts across Uzbekistan will be brought into compliance with the state language regulations.
According to a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 17 October, the Ministry of Transport and Uzbekistan Railways JSC must, within three months, ensure that all signs and information boards at railway facilities are displayed in Uzbek using the Latin alphabet, in accordance with the law on the state language.
In line with the adaptation of names, corresponding changes will also be introduced into official documents and databases.
The approved list includes 320 railway stations, terminals, and halts across the country, including facilities in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional centers, and the city of Tashkent.
Oversight of the resolution’s implementation has been assigned to Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov and Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov.
