AIMK to notify the website owner of the need to remove prohibited information

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Center for Mass Communications of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications (AIMK) will send a notification to the owner of the website, group (channel) in the messenger or blogger about the need to remove prohibited information within 24 hours.

On 23 December, the Government of Uzbekistan made changes to Resolution No. 707 of 2018 "On measures to improve information security in the global information network Internet."

The changes were made in order to improve the monitoring of mass information "on the Internet and" to protect the interests of the individual, society and the state in the information sphere.

The document notes that if prohibited information is detected in the texts of comments to the materials of the site or in social networks or messengers, the AIMK Center for Mass Communications sends a notification to the owner of the website, group (channel) in the messenger or blogger about the need to remove the prohibited information within 24 hours.

According to the document, the notification is sent electronically. The notification must contain a link to a page containing prohibited information, a screenshot of the page, and information on responsibility for violation of the law.

The owner of the resource, after receiving the notification, must delete the specified information within 24 hours. After that, the owner of the resource must inform the authorized body about it in electronic or paper form.

If the information is not deleted, AIMK or the Center for Mass Communications can contact the administration of a social network or messenger, or with a statement of claim in court.

The established procedure applies to all information resources, access to which is possible on the territory of Uzbekistan.
