Actual tasks on deepening Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation were considered

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 February this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov, who is in Tashkent within the framework of the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, topical issues of Uzbek-Kazakh relations, ways to deepen economic partnership in priority areas, as well as the implementation of bilateral agreements reached during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, held in December last year, were discussed.

The emphasis is on further measures to deepen investment, trade, transport, logistics and interregional cooperation. The parties exchanged proposals on deepening industrial cooperation, implementing new investment projects, removing existing trade barriers and facilitating access for Uzbek and Kazakh producers to the markets of the two countries.

The parties agreed to intensify the interaction of expert working groups to regularly discuss and monitor the implementation of the "Road Map" to bring mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to US$10 billion in the next 5 years.

Further actions are outlined for the implementation of the "Road Map" to create a network of joint wholesale distribution centers in the two countries. It was noted that the implementation of this initiative will give an additional impetus to the development of industrial cooperation between manufacturers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The dialogue also made it possible to substantively consider issues related to the implementation of individual projects and initiatives, develop solutions that meet the interests of both parties and determine further steps to promote them.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain close contact and actively interact to promptly resolve all issues arising in the framework of economic cooperation between the two countries.
