Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the fourth meeting of the Council of Plenipotentiaries of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the border regions and khokims of the border regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the opening of a comprehensive school named after M. Baetov in the village of Margun, Leilek district, Batken region, took place.
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov took part in the opening ceremony of the school via videoconferencing.
The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that the opening of the school is a symbol of great friendship between the two peoples.
“The development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries is the result of our long-standing historical ties of brotherhood, friendship and good neighborliness. Batken region borders on the Fergana region of the Republic of Uzbekistan and we stand for the expansion and increase of cross-border cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. I want to thank the leadership of the Republic of Uzbekistan for their assistance in the construction of this educational institution in Batken region. Today's event is proof that our fraternal ties are only getting stronger and developing,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.
In turn, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan stressed that through such events, the friendship between the two fraternal peoples is only strengthened and wished peace and prosperity to the Kyrgyz Republic.
It should be noted that the agreement on the construction of the school was reached during the visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to the Republic of Uzbekistan on 11-12 March 2021 on the personal initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The construction of a new school building with 330 seats was started in July 2021. The estimated cost of the project was 3.5 million US dollars, which were allocated by the Republic of Uzbekistan.
