Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A very important event took place in the history of relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea. We have always tried not to lose the pace of development of relations. And at the summit it was stated that, despite the serious challenges and consequences of the pandemic, our relations developed smoothly, steadily, and sometimes in an ascending direction in almost all areas, Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov noted.
The agenda included important issues of bilateral and multilateral relations. First of all, it should be noted that our countries are brought together by the strong friendly relations established recently between our leaders, Kamilov said.
According to the Minister, both states have close, similar positions in relation to many regional and global problems. The Republic of Korea supported us in our election to the UN Human Rights Council. Our country, thanks to the implementation of the new concept of foreign policy of the President of Uzbekistan, is entering a new level of cooperation in the international arena. This is not only bilateral relations, not only cooperation in the Central Asian region. This is also interaction on some issues of a global nature.
Thus, the President of our country put forward a proposal to hold an expert meeting on the creation of nuclear-weapon-free zones, taking into account the experience of Uzbekistan. The South Korean President accepted our offer, he said.
