Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 November 2020, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted an agitation spiritual and educational training session for members of the republican propaganda group, regional and district propaganda groups of regional branches on the topic "New Uzbekistan - a new worldview ". During the lesson, the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Parliament was analyzed, and it was also said about his speech at the solemn ceremony dedicated to the Day of Teachers and Mentors, and other topics.
It was noted that the last four years in the history of our country have become a period of fundamental reforms, large-scale changes and renewal. The process of changes that has begun in our country has been noted by the world community as a “phenomenon of new Uzbekistan”. There are reasons for this. Indeed, during this period, our country has demonstrated to the world its unlimited potential and opportunities in all areas. All of this is the result of a pragmatic foreign and domestic policy pursued under the leadership of the head of state.
At the same time, the supremacy of the interests of the people, full protection of human rights and freedom of speech are defined as the main priorities of the national development strategy. The issues of eliminating forced and child labor, creating a fair competitive environment for business, uncompromising combating corruption and ensuring gender equality have also been raised to the level of state policy in practice.
Special attention is paid to the gradual solution of the problems accumulated over the years in all areas. In particular, about 4.5 million appeals were considered in the people’s and virtual reception rooms of the President. Most of the more than 40 thousand applications received by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan over the past four years have also been positively resolved, thanks to which the confidence of our compatriots in government bodies has significantly increased.
The role of parliament, which plays an important role in public life, has also increased. Now the legislative body of the country has the practical powers to hear information and reports of state bodies at all levels, to study the truthfulness of the information provided on site. In this regard, it was especially noted at the event that the President’s Address sets out the tasks of the new parliament for the next 5 years. For their implementation, 12 normative legal acts were adopted aimed at reforming state and public administration, and 4 of which provide for an increase in the efficiency of parliamentary activity.
Approximately 50 laws have been adopted aimed at ensuring the independence of judges and improving the legal framework related to citizenship issues. Hundreds of parliamentary hearings and control and analytical events have been held.
Institutional changes have been made in parliament, in particular in the Senate. Committees on women and gender equality, and development of the Aral Sea region have been established.
The activity of local Kengashes of people’s deputies has been strengthened. The relationship between the parliament and local Kengashes has been strengthened. The creation of a separate structure in the Senate to work with local Kengashes was also an important step in this direction.
During the lesson, innovative approaches were also analyzed to lift the most vulnerable segments of the population out of poverty, increase the participation of women in state and social construction, and ensure the activity of young people in public life.
