Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and China, a special issue of the Psearcher information and analytical magazine dedicated to Uzbekistan was published in China.

The article "Growing investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan" is devoted to the economic achievements of Uzbekistan, which, despite the consequences of the pandemic, continues to demonstrate impressive growth rates.
“Today, more than 50 international companies with FDI successfully continue their activities in Uzbekistan. Moreover, world-famous brands open their regional offices and production facilities in the country. In recent years, such companies as Apple Distribution International, Netflix, Google Commerce, Google Voice, Samsung Electronics, Xsolla and others have appeared on this list.
As the Chinese edition notes, since the beginning of 2017, US$83 billion has been allocated in Uzbekistan from all sources. This is more than twice as much as in the previous period. Of these, about US$27 billion was attracted from abroad. About 65% of disbursed investments are in industrial and infrastructure projects.
Psearcher informs that from 2017 to 2021, the share of industry in the structure of Uzbekistan’s GDP increased from 25 to 33%, and the volume of industrial production increased by 1.3 times. During this period, more than 47 thousand large, medium and small projects were launched, more than 680 thousand permanent jobs were created.

New steps have been taken to strengthen the further development of pragmatic cooperation with the US and EU countries.

It is emphasized that in recent years Uzbekistan has noticeably stepped up its participation in the activities of the SCO. “During its presidency, Uzbekistan is prioritizing the development of a Joint Action Plan for the development of SEO trade, the preparation and adoption of the SCO Industrial Cooperation Program, the adoption of the SCO Strategy for the development of transport connectivity, cooperation to reduce poverty and increase food security, intensify efforts to ensure peace and stability, creating an information security forum. The focus is also on tasks such as the development of "people’s diplomacy" and cooperation between the regions of the two countries, strengthening cooperation in the field of healthcare, intensifying dialogue and active participation of member countries and partners in the implementation of SCO projects of mutual interest.

It is noted that over this short historical period, bilateral relations between our countries have acquired the character of a comprehensive strategic partnership based on the principles of friendship, trust and mutual support.
Particular attention is focused on the high dynamics of deepening multifaceted cooperation in recent years, achieved through active political dialogues at the highest level.
“The implementation of the agreements reached between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping made it possible to maintain the high dynamics of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the areas of trade, economy and investment. Over the past years, China has held the first place in the foreign trade of Uzbekistan.
In general, over the past 30 years, mutual trade between Uzbekistan and China has increased 140 times, and in 2021 their volumes exceeded US$7.4 billion. Today, more than 20% of all Uzbek export products go to the Chinese market,” the Chinese magazine emphasizes.
Special attention was focused on the interaction between Uzbekistan and China in new areas, such as healthcare and the fight against poverty.
Mutual support has been noted since the first days of the pandemic outbreak. The launched joint production of the Uzbek-Chinese vaccine was an important result of fruitful cooperation.
Poverty reduction has become another topical area of practical cooperation. It is emphasized that the reduction of poverty and the growth of prosperity are one of the most important directions of the New Development Strategy of Uzbekistan. Among the priority tasks is the introduction of integrated approaches and new methods, including not only social protection, but also such areas as education, health care, vocational training, access to clean drinking water, energy resources and road infrastructure.
“To this end, Uzbekistan intends to work closely with China in such areas as the development of rural industries, the modernization of the agricultural sector, and the strengthening of rural infrastructure,” the publication informs.
