Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On further improvement of the procedure for the movement of goods by individuals for their own needs” was adopted.

In accordance with the decree, from 1 January 2020:

- a simplified procedure for the collection of customs payments is introduced, envisaging the payment of a single customs payment in exchange for customs duty, value added tax and excise tax established by law for individuals importing goods in hand luggage and accompanied baggage through checkpoints of the State border of Uzbekistan, as well as in relation to goods arriving at an individual in international mail and courier for non-commercial purposes;

- a requirement is established for the mandatory availability of industrial packaging of food products of animal origin imported by individuals when moving across the customs border in hand luggage, accompanied by baggage, as well as in mail for personal use.

Also, in case of exceeding the limit norms for the import into the republic by an individual of goods that are not subject to customs payments, in part of exceeding the limit norms, based on the customs value of the goods in all its categories, regardless of the code of the Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the country of origin, a single customs payment.

The resolution approved the following:

- the rate of a single customs payment in the amount of 30 percent of the customs value, but not less than 3 US dollars for each kilogram;

- A list of goods not related to goods for own needs when imported by individuals.
