A quarter of Uzbeks expect wage increases in 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In December 2022, the ANCOR staffing company conducted a survey among 1,265 respondents in Uzbekistan to find out the career goals of employees for 2023.

26% of workers surveyed said they expect a pay rise at their current job in 2023. Slightly fewer survey participants want to be promoted (25%). And the third most popular answer - to change the employer - scored 23%.

WAGES

In terms of income growth expectations, the majority of employees (57%) expect a significant salary increase in the new year. 30% of respondents expect a slight increase in their current position. Another 8% of survey participants do not expect an increase in income.

REASONS FOR JOB CHANGE

The main reason for changing employers is the need for development and training, as 29% of respondents answered. They decide to leave for another job, as they do not see opportunities for professional growth in the current company - 25% of survey participants. 14% of employees consider the salary level unsatisfactory and therefore want to change jobs.

SKILLS

If we talk more about professional development, then in 2023, 37% of respondents want to master professional skills (hard skills). This is followed by digital skills - 35%, including receiving additional education in the chosen field. And 28% of respondents focus on soft skills.
