Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In connection with the holding of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Samarkand, several roads in the city will be closed to traffic from 14 to 17 September 2022.
Namely, the streets of Ibn Sina, Bustonsaroy, University Avenue, Namazgokh, Sadriddin Ainy, Registan, Rudakiy, Shakhi-zinda, Usto Umarkula Jurakulov, Islam Karimov, Afrosiab, Beruniy, Mirzo Ulugbek, Gulabad, Mukimiy and Dahbed will be closed to traffic.
As an exception, it is allowed to move along streets with limited traffic for persons in need of emergency medical care and emergency workers, the press service of the regional police department said in a statement.
The department calls on citizens who wish to visit Samarkand these days to reschedule their visit to another period.
During the days of the summit, bypass roads will be organized for transit vehicles, flyers with a QR code have also been developed for drivers, through which, using a mobile application, drivers can reach their destination along a dedicated route.
