Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Director-General of the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan Firdavs Abdukhalikov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda.
During a friendly meeting, the Ambassador expressed his opinion on the achievements of modern Uzbek cinema, on the high level of holding the Days of Uzbek Cinema in Tajikistan, on the impressions of the Tajik people from Uzbek films and wished success to the Director General of the Cinematography Agency.
It should be noted that during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan, which took place on 10-11 June, viewers from Tajikistan were shown feature films "Ilkhak", "Abdurahmon Jami", "Under a single sky" and the documentary "Heart of the people".
All films were warmly received by the audience. During the visit, the President noted the success of the Days of Uzbek Cinema in Tajikistan, noting that it is necessary to create a feature film about the friendship of our great ancestors - Alisher Navoi and Abdurahmon Jami. It should be noted that our two great figures and their contribution to science and education hold a special place in world culture. In this sense, a historical film about the great representatives of our peoples is equally important for both countries. Undoubtedly, this testifies to the continuation of the ancient fraternal ties between our countries and contributes to the development of cultural ties between our peoples.
In turn, Firdavs Abdukhalikov spoke about the important tasks assigned to the filmmakers of the two countries during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan, and thanked the ambassador for the warm attitude towards Uzbek cinema.
“Creative cooperation between our countries creates the basis for the exchange of experience in the field of cinematography, the search for talented directors and the filming of new films,” noted Firdavs Abdukhalikov. - At the suggestion of the President, a "Creative Group" was formed at the Agency of Cinematography to create a historical feature film about Alisher Navoi and Abdurahmon Jami. The group consists of representatives of the intelligentsia of both countries. From now on, regular videoconferences and negotiations on cooperation will be held. It takes the hard work of strong writers, directors, composers, designers and creative teams to create a successful film. We also support the holding of the Days of Tajik Cinema in Uzbekistan to strengthen our cultural ties. During a creative visit to Tajikistan, we signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Tajikfilm studio. We have already started to create co-production films together with Tajik filmmakers. In this we are greatly helped by the Joint Interdepartmental Council for Cooperation on the Development of Cinematography of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, which includes well-known cinematographers of the two countries.
“The joint work of the Tajikfilm studio and the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan is beneficial to both countries, both peoples, viewers and filmmakers,” said Abdujabbor Rakhmonzoda. - Because we are two peoples, with common roots. We are ready to develop a Concept for the film, become a solid bridge between the Tajikfilm studio and the Agency of Cinematography, and cooperate on a regular basis so as not to delay its implementation in practice.
In addition to the aforementioned large-scale film project, the parties discussed the upcoming films "Unknown Star" and "Stones and Water", which are created by joint efforts, as well as the holding of the Days of Tajik Cinema in Uzbekistan at the end of July this year.
