Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 July 2022, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is in the United States on a working visit, met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

During the meeting, the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, issues of regional security and sustainable development were discussed.

The UN Secretary General supported the initiative of Uzbekistan to hold the International Conference “Afghanistan: security and economic development” on 26 July 2022 in Tashkent. The UN will be represented at the forum at a high level.

António Guterres listened with great interest to the information about the essence, content and priority areas of the constitutional reform in Uzbekistan.

The parties exchanged views on other topical issues on the agenda of interaction.
