A delegation from Uzbekistan takes part in the 53rd plenary session of the IPA CIS

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 November, the 53rd plenary meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) was held in the city of St. Petersburg. During the plenary session, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva made a speech.

The head of the upper house of the parliament of Uzbekistan noted that the basic provisions of the law on organ donation are reflected in the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On transplantation of human organs and tissues", which was adopted by the lower house and is currently being considered in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.

“This once again emphasizes the relevance of active and fruitful interaction with the parliaments of other states within the framework of the IPA CIS, which makes it possible to develop proposals for the formation and convergence of the legislations of the member states of the Commonwealth, as well as the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation,” stressed Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate.

The parliamentarians expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for the readiness to organize the next international forum of the CIS member states "Children of the Commonwealth" in 2023 in Uzbekistan.

The members of the IPA CIS also discussed the Concept of Sustainable Development for the Member States of the Commonwealth and its Legislative Basis.

Also during the plenary session, reports were heard on model laws - "On measures of legislative support for labor migration during a pandemic", "On equal access to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection in the CIS countries", "On organ donation", “On Recommendations on cooperation of the CIS member states in the field of digital development”, “On grain”, “On the legal regime of territories affected by radioactive contamination” and others.
