The seventh meeting of the culture ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) states opens in China to boost cultural exchanges among member nations.
The inauguration of the Photo-Exhibition “Uzbekistan: Through the eyes of the French” was held in the Haute House of French Parliament - the Senate of France on 25 March 2010.
Opening ceremony of Egyptian Culture Days took place at Tashkent’s Centre of National Arts on 24 March. The cultural event has been organized by the Embassy of Egypt in Uzbekistan, Egyptian Culture Centre, Ministry of Culture and Sports Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Fund Forum.
The Fund Forum presented “Native Landscapes”, an exhibition of young artists dedicated to the Navruz Holiday. The exhibition opened on 19 March at Tashkent’s Youth Creativity Palace.
On 8-9 May, Khiva – the heart of Khorezm oasis – will host Asrlar sadosi (Echo of ages) Traditional Culture Festival, a grand collaborative project of the Fund Forum and UNESCO, which will present the entire diversity of Uzbek national traditions and customs, applied art, unique oral and nonmaterial legacy of Uzbekistan.
Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington and International Club of DC hosted a cultural event, dedicated to historic-civilization potential of Uzbekistan, modern life in the country, traditional values of the Uzbek people, art and culture. The event focused on rich tourism potential of Uzbekistan. The event was dedicated to Nawruz, which is marked on 21 March.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in London is holding a Photo Exhibition titled “Tashkent - the History of One City”, which will be held in March 2010 in the United Kingdom as part of the spring holiday Navruz.
In keeping with tradition, Bazar-Art Exhibition-Fair, one of the Fund Forum’s most colorful projects, will open its doors in the first spring month in Tashkent, Fund Forum said.
