Violations Found at “Hududgaz Surxondaryo” Branch — Consumers to Receive 770 Million Soums Refund

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The territorial department of the Competition Committee in Surxondaryo region uncovered violations in the operations of the gas supply branch of JSC “Hududgazta’minot” — “Hududgaz Surxondaryo.”

An inspection based on data from the “FOSSA” and “askug.hududgaz.uz” systems revealed that 79 consumers were incorrectly charged excess payments totaling 125.7 million soums. Additionally, over 640 million soums were billed for liquefied gas services that were not actually provided.

Following the investigation, a Special Commission of the territorial department initiated proceedings against the branch for violating the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Competition.” The Committee issued a resolution and order to recalculate and refund consumers the unjustified payments, amounting to approximately 770 million soums in total.

The gas supply branch “Hududgaz Surxondaryo” attempted to challenge the Committee’s decision and order in court, filing claims in multiple instances. However, all judicial bodies rejected the appeals, leaving the Committee’s decision in force.
