Uzbekistan’s Lawmakers Approve Bill Criminalizing Possession of Child Pornography

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has approved a bill introducing criminal liability for possession of pornographic materials involving children.

The draft law also amends the Criminal Procedure Code to clearly define the time limits for questioning minor witnesses.

In preparing the document, the organizing committee held consultations with political party factions, legal experts, and academics.

The adopted bill has been forwarded to the Senate of the Oliy Majlis for consideration.
