Uzbekistan’s First Ambassador Begins Work in South Africa

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ashraf Khodjaev has officially assumed his duties as the first-ever Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Republic of South Africa.

During the ceremony in Pretoria, the diplomat presented his credentials to President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Ashraf Khodjaev has extensive experience in Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry, having held various positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 2024, he was appointed as Ambassador to Qatar, and he will now also lead Uzbekistan’s diplomatic mission in South Africa.
