There are more than 1,500 mass media of various forms of ownership, areas of activity and format of information transfer, in Uzbekistan, Mirziyoyev said.

All of them need highly qualified staff. Unfortunately, there is no basic higher education institution in our country, which would solve these large-scale tasks centrally, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.

President said that there is need to establish University of Journalism and Mass Communication.
