Uzbekistan Showcases Food Industry Export Potential at Gulfood 2026 in Dubai

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 26 to 30 January 2026, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Inomzhon Abdurakhmonov, Head of the Department of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, participated in the international exhibition Gulfood 2026 in Dubai.

At the national “Made in Uzbekistan” pavilion, over 60 domestic companies presented the country’s export potential in food products, fruits and vegetables, legumes, and dried fruits.

During the exhibition, negotiations were held with more than 20 leading retailers and distributors from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf countries, including Lulu Group, Sunberry Vegetables, Ali Bin Ali Holding, and other major companies.

As a result, agreements were reached to place Uzbek products in Lulu retail chains and to organize direct supplies from Uzbekistan. With partners from the UAE and Qatar, mechanisms for entering new markets and gradually forming a pool of exporters were agreed upon.

Additionally, talks were held with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade on developing a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The parties agreed to create a joint working group and introduce preferential trade terms this year for over 500 product items, expanding opportunities for Uzbek exporters in the Gulf market.
