Uzbekistan Penalizes Three Companies for Advertising Violations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Territorial offices of the Competition Committee of Uzbekistan conducted inspections on compliance with the country’s advertising legislation, identifying violations by three companies.

In Bukhara region, ORIENT SPARKLE LLC installed an outdoor advertising structure on B. Nakshband Street without obtaining a valid advertising site permit. In Samarkand region, Sam-Ros-Stroy LLC displayed outdoor advertising on the facade of a building and on state-owned land without proper authorization, also violating language requirements for advertising.

In Tashkent region, Glamur Gold LLC promoted apartment complexes on social media and at a construction site without being registered as a construction contractor on the electronic platform regulating multi-apartment developments. The advertisement contained misleading information, as the actual properties did not match the stated specifications, constituting unfair and deceptive advertising.

Following the inspections, the Competition Committee initiated proceedings against all three companies. Financial penalties were imposed, and mandatory directives were issued to eliminate violations and prevent recurrence.

These measures aim to ensure compliance with the Law on Advertising and protect consumer rights in Uzbekistan.
