Uzbekistan Convicts 2,875 People Under Drug Offense Article in First 11 Months of 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, in the first 11 months of 2025, 2,875 people were convicted under Article 273 of the Criminal Code, which provides for liability for the illegal production, possession, and distribution of narcotic and psychotropic substances.

Of these, 2,650 individuals were sentenced to imprisonment, while 225 received non-custodial penalties, including fines, corrective labor, restriction of freedom, or suspended sentences. Medical measures were applied in the case of five individuals.

For comparison, in 2024, 3,020 people were convicted under the same article. Among them, 2,806 received imprisonment, 214 were given non-custodial penalties, and eight individuals were subjected to medical measures.
