On 22 December 2017, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that it is necessary to liquidate posts between the regions of the country. He said that the posts limit the movement of people and the development of the economy and tourism.

Currently, according to the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan, 21 posts of road patrol service, 14 roadblocks and 19 barrier posts have been liquidated in the country.

The Minister of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan Pulat Bobodjonov stated that 66 out of 133 posts between the regions of Uzbekistan will be liquidated.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs added that special groups have been established to study the expediency of having posts between regions. The study of the activities of the remaining posts continues, the ministry emphasized.
