Uzbek President signs decree on setting additional non-working days in 2018

The decree should create additional conditions for citizens to receive a full and useful rest during public holidays, rational use of holidays and non-working holidays established by law.

Additional non-working days will be set in 2018, dedicated to public holidays – New Year, Navruz and Independence Day and some non-working days to dates, close to public holidays.

The decree said that citizens of Uzbekistan will rest for five days during New Year holidays – 30 and 31 December 2017, 1, 2 and 3 January 2018. At the same time, the working day, 3 January, transferred to 6 January 2018.

During Navruz holidays, the citizens will also rest for five days – 18, 19, 20 and 21 March 2018. At the same time, the working days, 19 March and 22 March, will be transferred to 17 and 24 March respectively.

Uzbek citizens will also have five days off during Independence Days – 31 August, 1, 2 and 3 September. The days off, 8 and 15 Septembers, will be transferred to 3 and 4 September respectively.

At the same time, the decree said that annual leaves will be decreased by three days. It added that minimal length of annual leave set at 15 days.

The decree underlined that three days off will be provided to the citizens during celebrations of Eid-ul Fitr and Eid-ul Adha.
