Uzbek Parliament Approves Creative Economy Development Bill
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has approved a bill aimed at developing the creative economy and forwarded it to the Senate for consideration, the chamber’s press service reported.
The legislation is designed to foster systematic growth of the sector, provide support to creative professionals and enterprises, and encourage innovative projects. It outlines favorable legal, organizational, and economic conditions for participants in the creative economy, including tax incentives and other benefits.
Specifically, the bill provides support for projects implemented by the Culture and Arts Development Fund, residents of creative economy parks, and initiatives that attract foreign collaborators. Additional measures include easing requirements for admitting new residents into creative economy entities, aimed at increasing the sector’s appeal and expanding participation.
Officials anticipate that the law’s adoption will represent a key step in strengthening Uzbekistan’s cultural and innovative potential, promoting creative industries, and integrating the country into the global creative community.
