Uzbek Entrepreneurs Launch Livestock Projects in Belarus
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan are preparing to implement livestock projects in Belarus.
An online meeting on 19 March 2026, focused on expanding Uzbek business abroad and was led by Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Ulugbek Uzakov, First Deputy Hokim of Kashkadarya region.
Participants included livestock entrepreneurs from Kashkadarya region planning to develop similar operations in Belarus’s Vitebsk region. Belarusian authorities agreed on the possibility of acquiring farms of up to 9,000 hectares in Ushachsky, Gluboksky, and Sharkovshchinsky districts through auctions, with discounts of up to 90% offered.
Davron Vakhabov highlighted the strategic importance of the project for Uzbekistan, noting its role in diversifying meat and live animal imports and creating new supply sources. Entrepreneurs were encouraged to use the lands to establish sustainable feed bases for livestock and supply wool to Uzbek textile enterprises, forming an additional value chain.
Following the online meeting, it was decided that a delegation of Uzbek entrepreneurs would visit Vitebsk region next week to inspect the proposed farms and conduct on-site assessments.
The project was endorsed by participants as a promising initiative to expand international cooperation in the agricultural sector.
