Unlicensed Driver Blocks Traffic in Samarkand Incident

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Samarkand, a 19-year-old driver of an Onix obstructed traffic after refusing to exit his vehicle following a stop by traffic police.

The incident occurred on March 6 around 7:40 on the A-377 highway in Taylak district.

According to the press service of the Traffic Safety Department of Samarkand region, the driver ran a red light and ignored an officer’s order to stop. When the vehicle was forcibly halted, he continued to refuse to leave the car.

Traffic police broke the vehicle’s window to detain the violator. Administrative reports were filed under Article 194 of the Administrative Code of Uzbekistan (failure to obey lawful orders of law enforcement) and Article 135, clause 2 (driving without a license).

The driver later explained that he failed to stop because he did not have a license, apologized to the authorities, and urged citizens not to drive without the proper documentation.
