Surkhandarya region posts 9.3% GRP growth in 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The gross regional product of Surkhandarya region grew by 9.3% in 2014, the session of the local council said.

Industrial production of the region rose by 11.5%, consumer goods production – 13.6% and construction works – 16.1% in 2014.

About 14 new objects were commissioned due to attraction of all sources of investments for 19.508 billion soums. About 455 new industrial enterprises with the cost of 142.3 billion soums were launched in 2014. Production of nine new produces was started. Some 450 new service enterprises were launched.

About 11,322 businesses received loans for 424 billion soums. Share of small and private businesses in gross regional product reached 74.5%.

Over 66,418 new jobs were created in Surkhandarya region and 41,161 graduates of professional colleges were employed.
