President of Uzbekistan Reviews Plans to Expand Investment Cooperation with the UAE
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the latest session of the Foreign Investors Council, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with a delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) led by Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei.
The meeting was attended by top executives from leading Emirati companies, including Amea Power, Etihad Water & Electricity, TAQA Waters Solutions, AD Ports, and Masdar.
At the beginning of the discussion, the minister conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan.
The parties discussed in detail the practical implementation of agreements reached during the Uzbek President’s visit to the UAE in January this year. They expressed satisfaction with the steady development of the strategic partnership between the two nations, reflected in growing trade volumes, heightened investment activity, the expansion of joint ventures, and an increase in direct flights between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
The total portfolio of joint projects with Emirati companies now exceeds US$20 billion. During the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum, several new agreements were signed to deepen cooperation in key sectors.
Following the talks, both sides agreed to accelerate the implementation of large-scale investment projects in priority areas such as energy, transport and logistics, agriculture, healthcare, education, urban development, water supply systems, and other strategic sectors.
