Partial Collapse of “Troitsky” Bridge Reported in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A partial collapse occurred on Tashkent’s “Troitsky” Bridge at the intersection of Temur Malik and Buyuk Ipak Yuli streets, creating a deep asphalt sinkhole at a joint section of the bridge structure.

The incident posed a direct threat to traffic safety and significantly disrupted the usual flow, leading to major congestion. Preliminary reports indicate no injuries. Videos shared on social media show damaged road surfaces and exposed structural elements.

The Tashkent city administration deployed emergency services, technical specialists, and responsible authorities to the site. The area has been cordoned off and safety measures reinforced. A comprehensive technical inspection is underway to determine the necessary repair actions.

Preliminary investigations are examining potential causes, including recent heavy rainfall, soil over-saturation, and increased structural loads. Project design, construction quality, drainage systems, and compliance with building standards are also under review.

According to Begzod Hazratkulov, General Director of O‘zog‘irsanoatloyiha, the bridge structure over Buyuk Ipak Yuli and Temur Malik streets showed no defects after inspection. The bridge has been deemed safe and will soon reopen to traffic. Restoration work continues at the affected support section.
