Mirziyoyev and Sharif Discuss Strengthening Strategic Ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 March, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif.

At the beginning of the call, the leaders exchanged greetings on the occasion of Ramadan Hayit and Navruz, wishing their peoples peace, prosperity, and continued well-being.

The interlocutors emphasized that President Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Pakistan in February gave bilateral relations a new dimension of strategic partnership. They noted that following high-level negotiations, contacts between ministries, agencies, and regional authorities have intensified, with cooperation becoming increasingly practical and results-oriented.

During the conversation, both leaders also expressed concern over rising tensions in South Asia and the Middle East. They stressed the importance of resolving all emerging issues exclusively through peaceful and diplomatic means.
