Carriera Adriatico reported that Confartigianato Association, founded in 1946 and one of prominent organizations of craftsmen and small businesses of Italy, is expressing interest in economic opportunities of the Uzbek market and promotes project with participation of footwear companies from Italian city of Fermo.
The project appeared in the result of cooperation of Uzbekcharmpoyabzali Association and Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry to attract Italian women footwear producers into Uzbekistan.
Fermonotizie agency noted that Uzbekistan is the most populated country in Central Asia with population of 30 million people. There is high demand for high quality footwear.
Italian agency said that footwear produced in Uzbekistan can be traded in CIS markets without any duty fees. Studies showed that Uzbekistan have huge internal market, but also good conditions for footwear production.
Infofermo and Informazione agencies reported that in the initial stage, it was planned to create a network of companies and approve a complex plan of development, which envisages to check market for footwear products.
In the second stage, it is planned to create companies of Uzbekcharmpoyabzali in production and packaging footwear products.
Italian media expressed hope that Italian-Uzbek joint venture will produce 6 million pairs of footwear a year, which will be realized in internal and external markets.
