Uzbek leader said that in the result of adopted measures on stimulating development of small and private entrepreneurship, over 20,000 new small business entities (without farms) were created in Uzbekistan in 2014 and their total number reached 195,000 units. Their number grew twice compared to 2000.
Islam Karimov said that share of small and private businesses in GDP grew from 31% in 2000 to 56, while share in industrial production – from 12.9% to 31.1%.
He underlined that small businesses created over 480,000 new jobs in 2014. Over 76.5% of employed people currently work in this sector (49.7% in 2000), Uzbek head said.
Access of small businesses to raw materials improved. President noted that they bought products for 3 trillion soums via Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange in 2014, which rose by 1.6 times compared to 2013. At the same time, they realized their ready products for 1.5 trillion soums in 2014, which grew by 1.7 times, he said.
