Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026 Showcases AI-Based Innovation Projects in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 January 2026, the national stage of the Innovation Track of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026 was held in Tashkent. Participants presented projects leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies aimed at addressing pressing socio-economic and technological challenges.

The event brought together representatives from leading universities, industry experts, and a jury including specialists from the Center for Digital Education Development under the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, IT Park, and Huawei.

Six student teams from Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi and Inha University in Tashkent participated in the national final. Their startup projects spanned various areas, including:

Advancing educational initiatives in aerospace technologies and navigation;

Training IT specialists via digital education platforms;

Automating customer service for businesses and organizations;

Developing a circular fashion industry and promoting sustainable consumption;

Providing technological support for people with hearing impairments;

Personalized solutions for skincare and early detection of dermatological issues.

The jury selected three teams for the regional final:

1st place — BinaryHood (Inha University)

2nd place — HearO (TUIT)

3rd place — AIRPARK (TUIT)

The regional final for Middle Eastern and Central Asian countries will be held online, while the global final is scheduled in China in June 2026. In 2025, Uzbekistan participated in the global final in Shenzhen for the first time, securing third place.

During the event, participants and guests also explored the activities of ICT academies operating within Uzbek universities and modern technological solutions in digital education. Currently, ICT academies function in 20 universities, providing students with programs in key digital technology areas such as AI, cloud computing, data networks, and more.
