The Uzbek delegation during the visit held a number of bilateral meetings in Kabul, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The sides discussed practical aspects of cooperation, including perspective directions for further development of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication, educational, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.
The delegation of Uzbekistan was received by the President of Afghanistan, Muhammad Ashraf Ghani. The head of Afghanistan once again confirmed his interest in building up the Uzbek-Afghan dialogue in all spheres of mutual interest.
It was stressed that the joint construction of the Surkhan-Puli-Khumri power transmission line, the Mazar-i-Sharif-Shibirgan-Mayman-Herat railway, and implementation of other major projects in cooperation with the Uzbek side are of strategic importance for Afghanistan.
In Kabul, Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov also met with Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Government of National Unity of the IRA, Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani, Finance Minister Eclile Hakimi, and Presidential Adviser on National Security Issues Muhammad Hanif Atmar.
On the same day, members of the Uzbek delegation held talks with the heads of several ministries and departments of Afghanistan.
