Creative team of Russian TV program “Chefs on Wheels” visits Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 12 to 18 September, the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia, organized a visit to Uzbekistan for the creative team of “Chefs on Wheels,” a popular show on Russia’s Channel One.

The purpose of the visit was to promote Uzbekistan’s gastronomic and tourism potential among Russian audiences and to encourage more tourist flows from Russia.

During filming, the production team explored historical and tourist landmarks in Samarkand and Tashkent. The chefs immersed themselves in the local cuisine, sampled traditional dishes, visited markets and shops, and then prepared their own culinary creations inspired by Uzbekistan’s rich gastronomic culture.

Special attention was given to the Parkent district of Tashkent region, where the team took part in a hot air balloon flight. From above, they admired the picturesque landscapes, unique natural sites, and mountain ranges, witnessing firsthand the diversity and beauty of Uzbekistan’s scenery.

Each episode concluded with a culinary contest: the chefs cooked local dishes right in the central squares of Samarkand and Tashkent, where residents had the chance to taste the dishes and vote for their favorite.

“Chefs on Wheels” enjoys wide popularity among Russian viewers, with a combined federal and regional media audience exceeding 18 million people, making the program an effective platform for showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism and gastronomic appeal.
