Chinese Electric Vehicle Maker NIO Opens First Showroom in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer NIO has officially launched operations in Uzbekistan. The first branded showroom, NIO Space, opened in Tashkent, becoming the brand’s first official representative point in Central Asia.

Founded in 2014, NIO is considered a leader in China’s premium electric vehicle segment and is often referred to as the “Chinese Tesla.”

A key feature of NIO vehicles is the NIO Power battery swap technology, which allows the battery to be replaced in minutes instead of undergoing a standard recharge.

In the Uzbek market, NIO has introduced several intelligent electric vehicle models, including the ET9, EL8 (ES8 in China), EL6 (ES6), ET5, and ET5 Touring (ET5T), as well as vehicles under the Leto brand—L90 and L60. Special focus will be placed on the Leto models, which are expected to play a key role in the brand’s promotion in Uzbekistan.

ABU SAHIY MOTORS announced that, with NIO’s support, it plans to actively develop a local service network and EV charging infrastructure, as well as launch localized services for users, providing comprehensive support for electric vehicle owners in Uzbekistan.

In August, ABU Sahiy Motors and the Chinese intelligent electric vehicle brand NIO announced a strategic partnership. Under this collaboration, ABU Sahiy Motors became the exclusive distributor of NIO in Uzbekistan.
