The parties discussed topical issues related to implementation of the agreements, reached by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Afghanistan Muhammad Ashraf Ghani on 4-6 December 2017 within the framework of meetings and negotiations in Tashkent, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The sides exchanged views on the agenda of the upcoming open debate of the UN Security Council’s ministerial level on “Building a regional partnership in Afghanistan and Central Asia as a model for the interdependence of security and development”.

During the meeting, the sides discussed some problems of regional and international security, Uzbek-Afghan cooperation in countering modern challenges and threats.
