Tianchi Lake: Emerald Lake among the mountains
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- China, rich in its natural heritage, is famous for its excellent tourism and recreation opportunities. Each region of this vast country offers unique natural beauty and opportunities for travelers. One of the most exciting tourism destinations is Tianchi Lake, located 110 kilometers from Urumqi, the capital of China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
Lake Tianchi and the surrounding Tianshan Mountains are considered a national park and are part of the world natural heritage. This is a body of water that appeared about 200 thousand years ago during the Ice Age, and since then has attracted the attention of both locals and tourists.
Lake Tianchi, located at an altitude of 2 thousand meters above sea level, has a crescent shape and a total length of about 3400 meters. Its maximum depth reaches 105 meters. The water in the lake comes from the high-mountain glaciers of the Tien Shan, which gives it crystal purity and even makes it drinkable. For a long time, the lake was known as "Yaochi" or "Jade Lake" because of the amazing emerald color of its water.
Tianchi Lake is enriched with rich cultural and mythological history. Back in the Middle Ages, when the trade routes of the Great Silk Road passed nearby, legends were known and passed on about it. Local residents and caravanners retold generation after generation the legend that the lake was the resting place of the Taoist goddess of immortality, Xi Wangmu. Ancient legends also say that on the shores of Jade Lake there grows a tree of immortality, planted by the hands of the great goddess.
Tianchi Lake is not only one of the main attractions of Urumqi, but also a popular holiday destination for both locals and tourists, especially on the hottest summer days. It is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes: the mountain slopes are covered with forests and flower meadows, and the inaccessible peaks are shrouded in glaciers.
On clear summer days, Tianchi Lake invites visitors to enjoy beautiful weather, ideal for outdoor activities. Here you can not only enjoy the beauty of nature, but also climb some slopes, where you can see picturesque meadows strewn with colorful flowers. Also on the shore of the lake you can find several yurts, traditional dwellings of local residents, where tourists can spend the night and see the beauty of Tianchi Lake against the backdrop of the starry sky.
Also near the lake there is a tourist village where you can get acquainted with the culture of Kazakhs from China and try Kazakh dishes.
Tianchi Lake is a real natural diamond that adorns the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. Its beauty and history have captivated tourists and travelers from all over the world, and it remains one of the most delightful tourism destinations in China.
