Emir of Qatar to pay a state visit to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan on 5-6 June.

In accordance with the program of the visit of the distinguished guest, the main events will be held in the city of Samarkand.

During the upcoming talks at the highest level, issues of further development of the Uzbek-Qatari multifaceted relations will be considered. First of all, we are talking about the continuation of active political contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange, the implementation of large investment projects in the energy, gas chemical industry, agriculture, infrastructure, logistics, tourism and other industries.

The heads of state will also discuss topical issues of international politics and the regional agenda.

As a result of the meeting, a solid package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents is expected to be signed.

It should be noted that the visit of the Emir of the State of Qatar to our country will be the first in more than 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two states.
