Universities of Uzbekistan and Malaysia sign a cooperation agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- With the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, an online signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between the newly created Valley Innovative University in Ferghana and the Malaysian City University was held, the Dunyo news agency reported.

The Valley Innovative University, which is being created in Ferghana, is a private university. Currently, work is underway to organize the activities of the university, including the preparation of the building and campuses of the educational institution.

The opening of the university is planned for the current year. In particular, in the 2021-2022 academic year, the first admission of students will be carried out. The total number of students will gradually increase to 20 thousand students. As part of the university's activities, 2.5 thousand new jobs are being created.

The university plans to create departments of business, hotel management and tourism, agriculture, information technology, artificial intelligence, architecture, mechanical engineering, design, medicine, pharmaceuticals, dentistry and others.

City University of Malaysia is co-founder of Valley Innovative. In particular, it is planned that the educational system of the national university will be built on the advanced Malaysian teaching experience.

Deputy khokim of Ferghana region Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov and rector of Valley Innovative University Shahida Khamdamova from the Uzbek side took part in the signing ceremony, and vice-rector for scientific affairs of City University Rosniza Shaari from Malaysia.

As part of the signed document, the parties stressed that City University will provide its academic programs, assist in improving the qualifications of teachers and thereby lay the foundation for the formation of a new Ferghana university.

As part of the event, the Malaysian side was also familiarized with the history, culture and customs of the Ferghana Valley, as well as the investment and tourism potential of the region.

As a result of the event, the parties reached an agreement to maintain constant contacts for the further implementation of the project to create the Valley Innovative University in Ferghana.
