WW II participant from Bukhara receives Red Star after 72 years
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Participant of World War II Gamik Zakiev from Bukhara received the Red Star order after 72 years.
UzA reported that certificate, signed by the Russian President, and order of Red Star was handed over to Mr Zakiev in solemn ceremony.
Mr Zakiev participated in battles for freeing Ukraine and Czechoslovakia in 1943-1944. On 7 November 1944, he was awarded with the Red Star, but he did not received it.
After 72 years, the Red Star order was handed over to Gamik Zakiev.
