The commission was created in line with the order of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 12 February 2018.
Deputy Prime Minister Sukhrob Holmurodov headed the commission, which will study the experience of other countries, where space activities have become one of the locomotives of economic growth.
The Commission will also conduct a comprehensive analysis of technical and economic parameters of projects for introduction of space and satellite technologies, including creation of an integrated space industry management system.
The head of Uzbekistan ordered the commission to prepare proposals for creation of a national satellite communications network, introduction of topographic achievements in cosmonautics and training of personnel with the involvement of a foreign partner.
Also proposals on attraction of local manufacturers and financial resources on projects on introduction of space and satellite technologies will be prepared.
The Commission will hold meetings and negotiations with leading foreign companies with progressive experience in space research and technology.
The President instructed the Commission within two months to prepare the analytical report with specific proposals and draft normative legal acts on implementation of the expansion of the above mentioned tasks.
