Women actively participate in presidential elections
“Women’s Wing” of UzLiDeP is holding large number of events and roundtables to ensure active participation of women in upcoming presidential elections, scheduled to 29 March 2015.
Tashkent Automobile Roads Institute hosted a seminar “Active participation of women in presidential elections – guarantee for further liberalization and democratization of the society”, which was organized by Tashkent city Council of UzLiDeP.
Members of the faction of UzLiDeP at Legislative Chamber, MPs of Tashkent city Council of People’s Deputies, primary party organizations, students and others participated in the seminar.
At the seminar, it was underlined that the Constitution of Uzbekistan guarantees openness and transparency of elections.
It was underlined that activities of women in election process increased. The participants discussed attraction of women to construction of democratic state and strong civil society, improve their legal and political knowledge, their role in implementation of the laws, etc.
The programme and pre-election platform of UzLiDeP outlines role of women in social-economic life of the country. Currently, Tashkent city organization of the UzLiDeP has 37,135 members, including 15,593 women. About 475 women are heading primary party organizations.
