Victims of Ahmadbay’s group get back their 105 cars
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Some 105 cars of various brands, given to the founder of the financial pyramid Akhmadjon Tursunbaev (also known as Ahmadbay), have been returned to their rightful owners, Akhborot 24 program said.
Ahmadbay and his accomplices were detained in the summer of 2016. With regard to Ahmadbay and his five accomplices, a criminal case has been opened for fraud and legalization of proceeds from criminal activities. Investigative actions continue.
According to the inquiry, the citizens voluntarily gave their vehicles to Ahmadbay to sell for the price twice higher. But Ahmadbay did not give them any money. Tens of thousands of citizens suffered from the actions of Ahmadbay.
Through the companies Chinoz Halol Chorva and Chinoz Auto Hamkor Trans, Ahmadbay’s group appropriated cash, livestock and automobiles of citizens.
Law enforcement agencies seized 13.139 billion soums and US$7.9 million as evidence during operational activities in the house of Tursunbayev and his close relatives, as well as in their companies.
