UzLiDeP faction discuss activities of Ombudsperson in 2014

MPs analyzed activities of Ombudsperson on improving legislation in human rights sphere in 2014 and studied appeals of citizens to Ombudsperson to protect their rights.

UzLiDeP MPs said that appeals allow to assess actual picture of human rights protection in Uzbekistan and reveal negative trends, collect proposals and opinions on further improving legislation of the country.

MPs stated that Ombudsperson should pay special attention to protection of rights and interests of business entities and hold regular monitoring.

It was noted that the Ombudsperson should closely cooperate with parliament to organize legal expertise of the laws “On public control”, “On ecological control” and “On social partnership”. It was underlined that some more laws should be re-considered as well.

Ombudsperson and committees of the Legislative Chamber should boost exchange of information at organization of control-analytical work, monitoring of law implementation, organization of seminars, roundtables and other events related to human rights.

UzLiDeP MPs said that Ombudsperson should play key role in liberalizing judicial-legal system, improving legal knowledge of population, and controlling activities of the state bodies, especially in human rights sphere.

Faction of UzLiDeP approved the report of Ombudsperson for 2014, taking into account opinions and proposals, made at the session.

The faction adopted the corresponding decision on all considered issues at the meeting.
